Fortunately the weather behaved for my GolfingGirl Summer Event and we managed to complete a fun packed day consisting of plenty of giggles with finally no rain!

This event was a new addition to the GolfingGirl calendar by the request of my current ladies, I changed the format to incorporate all playing abilities and time of year. The feedback from the ladies attending suggested the format worked a treat, I even hired a photographer for the ladies to take advantage..

Three Rivers Golf Club is an outstanding venue for me to host not only my GolfingGirl  group sessions but very structured special event such as this one. The Jubilee course is in perfect condition and is very playable for all abilities providing a relative easy walk for players not used to playing 9 holes..the only problem is the walk back to the clubhouse! but having being fed with the most amazing selection of cakes we all were fuelled ready for the walk in! which never seems far as the teams interact and chat about their shot of the day.

The day was attended by 20 ladies with 4 current Jubilee & Kings club members who were on hand as Team Captains to assist with the scoring, but every single lady who attended had been through the GolfingGirl programme right from the very specific introductory sessions through to special events. Many of the ladies are attending my  forthcoming overseas Golf School and have braved the March Sarah’s Spring warmer… This event will be changing date for next year you will be pleased to hear!

The one common denominator which I heard time and time again yesterday was “How friendly the group were” now this is one of my absolute key objectives when introducing many nervous ladies to the game. There are too many coaching keys I use to discuss right now, however I know them to have been successful over the past 6 years. This to me is a key attraction of GolfingGirl. When I played on the Ladies European Tour, I used to run a variety of Corporate Events so utilise previous with new experiences to offer something memorable to my ladies.

Chipping Champ! a new GolfingGirl!

The Champion chippers were the team of Wendy & Jo which provided an added confidence boost to our new GolfingGirl, who was experiencing her first taste of a ladies run & delivered event. The day provided many new learning points with one lady confident now to complete her own Stableford scorecard. I had better not make any mistakes!!

The putting challenge provided the ladies with a one ball chance which could not have skirted any closer to the edge of the hole without dropping in. The winner equally delighted with her bottle of Prosecco which was decided with the lucky draw but a very worthy winner, a lady who has supported GolfingGirl for the year. The day saw some excellent scoring with the winners producing 50 Stableford points with the best two counting format. I witnessed a gross birdie for 5 points ! a superb tee shot along with a chip in for a par 8 points on one hole. (bandits) A very worthy team win, I should have realised the extent of their preparation and competitiveness with the team huddle on the first tee!

Many of the ladies have signed up for my following group session on Saturday 5th September 1pm-3pm. There are currently only 4 spaces remaining which shows the consistent interest of golf within GolfingGirl which hopefully can be replicated throughout the Country to drive participation and enjoyment in the game.
