UK Golf School

Well, the first 2015 SBG UK Golf School took place last weekend at my now regular associated venue of Dunston Hall in Norwich. I have used his venue now for five years and is a regular on my schedule, the whole experience falls in line with the standards I expect from a SB Golf School with many returning year after year.

The spaces available are limited, this year my client numbers consisted of an even mix of Men and Ladies. The stage was set with this perfect combination for my team “friendly competition”. This section of the event was narrowly won by the Men by just 2 Stableford points!! Next year the members of  GolfingGirl I am sure will be back for revenge…

The organisation of my invited trips for my clients commences up to a year in advance so there are always some disappointed golfers but I do insist on a manageable Coach to player ratio which fits in nicely with my schedule of the weekend or weeks activities. The only piece of advice is to keep an eye open on my website or sign up to my blogs and newsletters via SarahBennettGolf  which detail all coaching and social events well in advance.

The signs which I look out for is the interaction between the attendees during the week in conjunction of  the learning of the clients which completes the week of coaching. I alter the areas covered and use a different competition format for each School based around a number of varying elements including client experience. This is the beauty of the game of golf with the endless formats suited to everyone at a given stage of their golfing journey.

The weekend provided 40% of the player’s their lowest ever round of golf which considering is on a completely new venue is very encouraging, it is this confidence which is then carried forward ready for the start of the new golfing season.

My weeks ensure a mix of competitiveness along with  team environment which is really noticeable in the “Hidden partners” round. This year I had to work of three 4 pairs with the victors Wendy & Leila coming out on top with 62 points from Pam & Liz by just one combined point on the back 9 count back! I know there were some disappointing faces when my signature prize was presented… roll on Spain!!!

The golf course was very dry considering the winter we have experienced even so buggies were the order of the day with the Buggy buddies prize being awarded to Matt & Wendy. I could not keep up with their pace of play and fuel injected sports buggy. A great combination and definitely a Pro-am tem in the making for this season. A great deal of learning from the course management perspective of golf which in my opinion is severely under coached.

I would like to Thank everyone who attended my UK Golf School and to Dunston Hall, I really hope you all enjoyed yourselves, I look forward to hearing how your 2015 season is progressing.
