Canine partners charity golf day

Sarah Bennett PGA Head Teaching Professional hosts charity Golf Day in aid of Canine Partners

Sarah Bennett PGA Head Professional and former Ladies European Tour member will be hosting a charity golf day at Three Rivers Golf Club and Country Club on Thursday 10th July 2014. The day will be in aid of Canine Partners, a charity which provides working assistance dogs to people with physical disabilities.

Sarah is no stranger to organising and assisting charities to fundraise, some of her work includes coaching residents from Chavasse House at Colchester Barracks which is funded by Help for Heroes. She recently provided the house with a Huxley putting mat which was a result of her Golf Day for the soldiers and will be continuing her work during 2014.

“I was invited to attend a charity day in Holland a few years ago and first saw the positive impact of the assistance dogs and saw how they transformed their owners lives.”  I was eager to spread the word and it was pure coincidence whilst attending the Chavasse House open day that I saw the amazing work Canine partners do, by providing assistance dogs to injured service personal and other people who have a physical disability. I really wanted to help raise some funds for such a worthwhile charity which has a life changing effect”

Lindsay Hurrell – Essex Community Fundraiser says – “ We are really grateful to Sarah Bennett for kindly offering to host this golf day in aid of Canine Partners.  As a charity we do not receive any government funding so rely solely on support from the general public. I would like to urge all budding golfers to pick up their clubs and help raise some money for the charity, which in turn will help provide more assistance dogs to people with physical disabilities”.

The day will consist of coffee upon arrival, 18 holes of golf with an entry of 4 players per team followed by a two course meal with prizes. In addition a Canine Partnership will be in attendance demonstrating the work that the dogs do on a daily basis.

Three Rivers Golf Club boasts two superb 18 hole golf courses – the par 72 kings course and the 64 jubilee course at is set in beautiful surroundings at Cold Norton, Purleigh, just outside of Chelmsford. The cost per player is £45 for visitors and £30 for members.
